Mark Solomon

Mark Solomon has over 21 years of experience representing public, venture-backed, and strategically-funded technology companies.  Prior to joining Paradigm Counsel, Mark spent the last 10 years as General Counsel to five startup companies, including Cybersyn (DaaS), Spruce (real estate/fintech), Alyvant (biotech), Enigma Technologies (DaaS), and Orchard Platform (fintech). Before startup life, he was Deputy General Counsel of Investment Technology Group, a publicly-traded financial services, SaaS, data analytics, and investment research company.  Mark began his career at Cravath and Simpson Thacher, where he focused on litigation, technology transactions, and intellectual property. 

Mark has been responsible for all legal and regulatory affairs at each of his companies, including board relations and corporate governance, sales enablement, intellectual property, privacy, real estate, vendor management, and corporate policymaking, as well as providing legal support to all key corporate functions, including human relations, product, engineering, operations, information security, and marketing and public relations.  In his regulated businesses, Mark led and supervised the compliance functions, including the establishment of an SEC-approved broker-dealer and alternative trading system. 

Mark advises and represents companies on a broad array of matters, including:

He has particular expertise in the monetization and in-licensing of alternative data, including the requirements for commercializing to a financial services and corporate clientele.

Mark earned his B.A. in English from Columbia College and his J.D. from Columbia Law School. In his spare time, he loves to cook and bake, is an avid reader and movie fan, and is learning to paint in oils.
